What happened in some cities in Manila is perhaps
God's way of telling us that we've done enough for mother earth...His frequent reminders were ignored and its a shame people change only when they experience traumatic experience like "ondoy" A lot of factors caused the "ondoy" tragedy, its not just because of days of heavy rainfall. Its a natural disaster but it couldn't have been worst if people were prepared and mindful of the effects of man made constructions, improper garbage disposal,(oftentimes ignored), illegal logging....etc., etc.... A single candy wrapper or a piece of styrofoam cup can cause flooding if it comes in bulk, and what about baby diapers? or plastic bags? or sachets? or mineral water bottles which are biodegradble and cant melt even for a century? Our world now circulates on these things, we've become used with the comfort that they can do in our life. Life is changing and we have yet to know the consequences of a lot of things on this planet.
